In all 6 years successfully taught kiting more than 500 people and without any injury. Safety in extreme sports is of the utmost importance. I am proud of my students and enjoy their progress. Bohdan
Hi everyone! My name is Bohdan. I’m 29 y.o. and I’m a kite addicted! For me it’s not only a job - this is my passion. I’m really love to teach people how to fly :) Main goal it’s when my students are happy and I try to do everything for that. Big Air and Kiteloop makes me happy but I’m also enjoy the foil riding, especially in really light wind. Wanna push your limits? I help you to break your boundaries x3 times faster!
Sergey
Hello! My name is Sergey and I am 30 years old. I have been in kite surfing since 2013. I love my work and reunion with nature, the power of the wind and the feeling of freedom! And I teach this wonderful sport. I also improve myself all the time, I can ride a hydrofoil, twin tip, surfboard, skim. I am always ready and happy to share my experience and skills with novice students and also with students who want to improve themselves and their level of kiting;) And also help those who want to raise their level and pump their advanced level of skiing, my motto. I will teach even the one who didn’t want to :)
Sasha
Hello, my name is Sasha, I’m 36 y.o. Last 10 years I teached people how to play with kite. Kite surfing its not only work for me, its piece of my life and I like it very much. I have International Kite Instructor License from IKO system. I can teach beginners and advanced riders, hooked and unhooked jumps, also hydrofoil. Also I’m a kite doctor, so if you brake your kite we can fix it “on the boat” :) If you still have any questions, don’t be shy to ask me more, then join us with next group on kitesafari. Aloha.
Dima
Hello! My name is Dima. Since childhood I have developed a love for the sea and water sports. At the age of 15 I became very interested in the development of body health and keeping it in a strong manner. I was engaged in sport gymnastics and graduated from the Polish University of Tourism and Recreation. I’m an IKA Instructor level 2. And I try to convey all the strength and beauty that I see in this sport to others. I am also a ski and fitness coach, but mostly teach people kitesurfing. Kiting has become for me not just a job and a sports discipline but also a philosophical way of life. The more I progress in kiting, the less I struggle with the world and opportunities. Now I am passing my experience to You, trying to give You a grain that will grow into something more than just an exclusive hobby. Kite is freedom and there are always wonderful people around. I consider this sport one of the most balanced risks related to adrenaline.

What kite size should I choose?

To choose the right size for your kite, you need to take 2 criteria into account: your weight and the strength of the wind. Briefly, the relationship between them can be expressed as follows:

  • Weight: Heavy weight = large kite, light weight = small kite
  • Wind: Strong wind = small kite, light wind = large kite

The wind force and the rider’s weight should always be considered in relation to one another.

The most versatile kite in the world is 12 sq. m. Depending on the strength of the wind and your experience, for a weight of 60-70 kg (132-154 lbs.), it is recommended to take the 11-12 and 7-8 sizes. For 70-80 kg (154-176 lbs.) it should be the 13-14 and 9-10 sizes, and for 80-100 kg (176-220 lbs.), it should be the 15-16 and 10-11 kite sizes.

The following factors should be considered:

  • Rider’s level: The higher your level is, the higher the range of kite you can use, and vice versa.
  • Rider’s weight: The higher your weight is, the higher the range of kite you can use, and vice versa.
  • Board size and displacement: The larger the board, the lower the wind range of the kite is, and vice versa.

Unlike experienced riders, beginners should take a smaller kite. Generally, consider the following: if you use a kite whose size is not large enough for a given wind, it will be inconvenient when starting from the water and going upwind. If the kite is too large, you can lose control of it, and that is unsafe. Since the wind often changes, it makes sense for experienced kiteboarders to purchase 2-3 kites with a difference of 3-5 sq. m for different wind conditions – they will cover up to 90% of the range of existing winds.

When is the best time to go to Egypt for a kite safari?

You can kitesurf in Egypt year-round. This is good news for those who like to “fly” on a kite. But each season is different.

  • May to October is the best season for kiting. The air temperature is 27-32 C (81-90 F), and the water temperature is 28-31 C (82-89 F).
  • In November to February, the air temperature is about 10-21 C (50-70 F), but rain is very likely. This weather is not very suitable for kiting.
  • The rainiest month is January. However, even in winter, less precipitation falls on the Red Sea.

The perfect weather conditions for kiting are wind that is calm but strong enough, and warm water. Each year is different from the previous one, and it is impossible to predict the weather conditions in advance. Nevertheless, we advise you to plan a kite safari in Egypt between April and October.
